CASE STUDIES
Our Work
A look at how Push Play solves real production problems for hosts, businesses and brands across the Bay Area and beyond, in our San Leandro studio, on location and remotely. Client names are kept private.
REMOTE INTERVIEW
Host in the Midwest, guest in the Bay Area
The client
An interview host based in the Midwest needed to sit down with a guest in the Bay Area, without either of them traveling.
The challenge
The guest's footage had to look and sound like it belonged in the host's existing series: same set style, same framing, same audio quality, recorded 2,000 miles apart.
What we did
- Styled our studio set to mirror the look of the host's own set
- Three camera angles on the guest, lit to match the host's series
- A dedicated webcam so the host could join live over Zoom, with a live cut produced on the day
- A discreet in-ear monitor instead of over-ear headphones, at the client's request, so no headphones showed on camera
- Packaged and delivered every file digitally
The result
Footage that slotted straight into the host's series, matched to the look and sound they expected, with no travel for anyone.
ON-LOCATION · SHORT NOTICE
Executive interview for a nationally recognized firm
The client
A Bay Area content team landed a rare interview with a senior leader at a nationally recognized company and needed a production crew on short notice.
The challenge
We were given three possible rooms at the company's office, very little direction and a fixed window with a high-profile guest.
What we did
- Alex and Manny walked all three rooms and chose the one with the best look and sound
- Three-camera setup, lit to match the client's reference photo, with a backup light on hand
- Lavalier mics on both speakers, with Manny monitoring audio throughout
- Arrived early so everything was built and tested before the guest sat down
- Handed off isolated camera files, a live cut and a mixed audio track for the client's editors
The result
A clean shoot with no reshoots, and a client who raised working together on an ongoing basis.
FULL STACK PRODUCTION
From first episode to nearly 50, every week
The client
A first-time podcast host with no production experience wanted a professional weekly show.
The challenge
She needed to show up consistently without learning production, editing or distribution herself.
What we did
- Full Stack Production: planning each week's episode, recording in our studio and editing
- RSS setup and distribution to every major podcast platform
- A weekly release schedule: full episodes on YouTube plus multiple short clips each week on Instagram and Facebook
- We manage every release, every week, so she never has to handle scheduling or publishing herself
The result
Nearly 50 episodes released on schedule. She shows up with her content and leaves knowing every episode will be edited, polished and published.
“I am recording and editing my podcast from this studio. It’s very professional with high standards and quality equipment. I continue to record and edit my weekly episodes with no plans to look elsewhere.”Jenna Williams, weekly podcast host
INTELLIWAV AUDIO REPAIR
Rescuing an episode recorded on a camera mic
The client
Clients come to us after a main microphone fails mid-recording and the only usable sound is the camera's built-in audio.
The challenge
Make camera audio sound like it was recorded on proper podcast microphones, and match it to the rest of the show.
What we did
- Repaired the audio through our engineer-led IntelliWAV process: noise reduction, EQ and leveling
- Matched it to the client's reference audio
- Mastered to the loudness standards streaming platforms require
The result
Listeners can't tell the episode was recorded on a camera mic. Every IntelliWAV project is finished to the same platform standards.
STUDIO BUYOUT · 4K
Corporate brand content, start to finish
The client
A large corporate brand booked a full studio buyout for a video production.
The challenge
Deliver polished, on-brand video without the client needing an in-house production team.
What we did
- Worked with their team to rearrange and light the set
- Shot in 4K LOG
- Handled the edit, color grading and IntelliWAV mixing and mastering
The result
Polished, on-brand video ready to publish, produced entirely by our team.
Editing for creators on the go
Some clients film their own content and simply don't have time to edit it. They send us their footage each week, and we turn it into full episodes and short clips ready to publish.
Custom intro music
Push Play started as a music studio. As part of a full production consultation, we dig into the shows, music and look a client loves, and Manny can produce a one-of-one intro theme to match.
